Love

Bible verses about Love

Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. – 1 Corinthians 8:1b

Love is long-suffering and kind. Love is not jealous, it does not brag, does not get puffed up, does not behave indecently, does not look for its own interests, does not become provoked. It does not keep account of the injury. It does not rejoice over unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, – 1 John 5:3

Beloved ones, let us continue loving one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born from God and gains the knowledge of God. He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love. – 1 John 4:7,8

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied:
” ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ – Matthew 22:36-39 (New International Version)

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16

By this the love of God was made manifest in our case, because God sent forth his only-begotten Son into the world that we might gain life through him. – 1 John 4:9

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. –  1 Corinthians 13:8 (New International Version)

Beloved ones, let us continue loving one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born from God and gains the knowledge of God. He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love. – 1 John 4:7,8

There is no fear in love, but perfect love throws fear outside, because fear exercises a restraint. Indeed, he that is under fear has not been made perfect in love. – 1 John 4:18
